First of all I'd like to say thank you for allowing me on here. This is my first post, and unfortunately it's not good news.

I tried to install Sheherazade on my Nokia N73. It was the full package, including the Python Runtime. I had no other Python products installed on my phone. The installation went smoothly. So then I went to menu > applications > Sheherazade, and all it did was die, before it even opened. I tried reinstalling several times, to no avail. I do use a screen reader called Talks, but that can't be the problem as my other registered blind fellows use the program without problems and in fact highly recommend it, hence me wishing to try it.

So if any of you know what my problem is, that would tremendously be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to hearing from you all.

Kind Regards,

Firstly, can I say a really big thank you for the Audiobook application, as I have been looking for ages for an audio player that remembers where in the mp3 it was before it was exited :)

I have a few requests, I don't know if the Audiobook Player can already do these, so if it can, how can I get it to do it or if it can't, would it be possible to add the functionality in.

1) Can I get it to play mp3's from a folder other than the one named 'AudioBooks'?

2) Can it go to the next mp3 filename automaticaly once it's come to the end of the current mp3?

If anyone has any ideas on this, please could they let me know.

Thanks in advance,

I've tried installing it on a Samsung Innov8 device, but unfortunately it doesn't work, even though it's a Symbian device. However, it's running S60 FP2, so perhaps that's the reason? In any case, really hope it can be addressed in an upcoming release.

N96 - wont recognise SD card - help

Hi

Love the app but I have an issue on my Nokia N96. The options or where the audio books are internal memory or memory card. On my Nokia N96, it recognises the memory card as the intenal 16gb hard drive. There is not an option for the 8gb micro sd card.

Is this an easy fix?

I was wondering if you'll be supporting a wide screen format.

I have been loving this app on the N82, but on my new E71, the screen is cut off on the bottom, so I can't see the total book progress and the softkey labels.

It'd also be nice if you can have a Lock keypad features built in as the first option on the left softkey, so we can quickly lock the keypad.

Unfortunately, when I try to install it, the Nokia tells me 'Certificate Error - Contact Application Supplier'. This message pops up several seconds after I select 'OK' to the question 'Install Scheherazade?' I have tried downloading, unzipping, and installing the file using only the phone and its browser. I have also tried downloading and unzipping the file on a PC (using Winzip v.11) and then using Nokia PC Suite to install the application. The result is the same in all cases. I have been using the 'full' version of Scheherazade, since I do not have the Python for S60 framework installed. The E90 is a Symbian S60 3rd edition device. I have not had any problems installing other applications on this phone (Nokia Podcasting, Google Maps, etc.). While I'm a Symbian newbie, it's my understanding that all applications must be digitally signed. Has the certificate associated with the Scheherazade signature perhaps expired?

I can't wait to try out Scheherazade :-)

Thanks,

I have a question regarding audiobook format you are using. I used Nokia demo audiobook and it works very well. There is .inx file with audio files.

I have a question - is this .inx file some kind of a standard or you just made your player compatible with Nokias? I couldn't find the documentation of .inx format in the Internet.

Could you point me in the right direction?

Would this application run on older s60 v2 phones such as nokia N70? I think it can handle a lot of audio formats including MP3, MP4, WAV and AMR. The one I am not sure about is WMA. Newertheless an ability to resume where I have left off has always been my wish number 1 for any media player software.

If older phones are not supported because you have no such device to test with I'd be glad to try that on my N72. If it uses standard pys60 features this should not be a problem I assume.

The thing I am afraid of is whether you will be willing to publish the source code. You know the nature of python scripts...

bug

when i try to open the program it is closed immediately with : 'Please Choose a book to listen to' all the time on my Nokia N93. i've tried both version with the same result. I've been using it a lot. Already gone though 5 books with it.

However, I have encountered a problem...

I have my folder structure setup as:

/audiobooks/book1

and under book1, there are multiple files, for example: 1.mp3, 2.mp3, 3.mp3 etc

the player would repeat 1.mp3 after it has done playing that track. Sometimes, it would play 1.mp3 twice, then go on to 2.mp3. Plays 2.mp3 twice, then go on to 3.mp3. etc. (of course, it goes without saying that there are only 1 track of each)

I can still manually advance the tracks by pressing 9.

This issue only develops after using the player for a week.

A reinstall fixes the issue

Happens on N82 and E51. On the E51, this issue occurred on the very first installation.

We are using the latest version.

Also, feature request... can you add a keylock button? It will be much quicker than exiting the app, then locking the keypad.

Bluetooth compatibility

Hello,

I tested the application via a wired headphone, and it works great.

I'm thinking about buying a S60 phone that supports A2DP and AVRCP (Nokia E51), but now my question is, can anybody confirm that this application is supporting the bluetooth A2DP and AVRCP profiles

Thanks
